StickyDrama was recently sent some rather cute Captcha graphics.

There are 26 letters in the alphabet and 10 numbers, or 36 alphanumeric characters. However Captcha does not use all 36 characters; it uses only y, x, w, v, u, t, q, p, n, m, k, j, h, g, f, e, d, c, a, 7, 6, 4, and 3. That’s 23 characters.
Let us assume that each of the 4 characters in Stickam’s Captcha are chosen at random: The choice of one character in no way influences the choice of another. According to the branch of mathematics known as Combinatorics, there are 23x23x23x23, or 279841 potential combinations.
Hence the odds that WEED or TWAT would appear is about 1 out of 28000. In fact, the chance of any 4-letter word appearing is 1 out of 28000, assuming it contains only those 23 characters Captcha allows. So while FUCK and DAMN are possible (unless Captcha specifically removed them) SHIT and PISS are not.
1 out of 28000 are not bad odds, considering how many thousands of users are on Stickam. If any reader ever gets FUCK, please send the screencap to StickyDrama.
