Its time once again for another quick, serious look into whats happening around the interwebs. BlogTV officially announced this Wednesday on their community blog that they will be paying 50% of video ad revenues to their entertainers who are approved for their ‘Ad revenue share program‘. This cleared up the many rumors of monetary offers behind the scenes by the Israel based BlogTV admin. Specifically the dark dealings of the big BlogTV overlord herself, Kara Hannah:
The same BlogTV overlord who whined recently about BlogTV running out of money and repeatedly denied the accusations of paying entertainers before Buckley ‘spilled the beans’ about the bucks. ‘What the Buck‘ host Michael Buckley appeared on CNN sharing his insight and smiling ear to ear about the fact he is raking in $100,000 a year from his YouTube alone. Click to watch the CNN interview:
Interestingly, Buckley goes on CNN and the very next day BlogTV comes out with this ad revenue program. Buckley laid the smack down on starry eyed young video makers who think they can make easy money — he explains its wasn’t easy at all. Something only a very talented homo could do with his spare time. In addition to his YouTube, he is making ad revenue from his BlogTV appearances; both live and recorded. He joined BlogTV as he says: because they made me the best offer of any of the live-streaming sites and my viewers really enjoy it over there.
Will trends like this prompt Stickam to up-their-game, abandon their current policies and begin forming a partnership program like YouTube and now BlogTV? Perhaps, but don’t be quick to assume. As similar as the sites are, they are just as different. Whereas BlogTV focuses more on single entertainers, Stickam does that and ten times more. BlogTV has shown growth but its difficult to guess how long this trend will last, if at all.
Stickam has been busy spearheading other innovative things which could spike their growth like stickam mobile, pay per live, the just released API. Perhaps they have more in the works to attract and compensate entertainers. Either way, those at Stickam HQ are surely rooting for Iranin President’s plan to ‘wipe Israel off the map‘ quickly solving their BlogTV issues. lol.
he does have a real job. Entertaining was a hobby and obviously people loved him! Good for buck! He’s hysterical
ew buck :[
Actually, theres no difference at all. Internet is a new media. In some years, prepare yourself to have everything you have on your tv online. THAT’S the main point of sites like stickam. that’s why peoples lives in some sites are called CHANNELS, same to youtube.
Entertainment is all the same, singing, acting, hosting, MCing. So the hot from a club shouldnt get paid either.
I mean, when you are bored and you go into someone live, that actually have something to say and is trying to entertain people, think about it. Some people are not just saying hello/goodbye to their friends, some people actually try to keep it interesting.
js.

LOL There’s a BIG difference between singing/performing and sitting at home on the computer.
But kudos to anyone who can make money off it.
I don’t see the problem with people entertaining and getting paid for it. EVEN if it’s in front of a webcam.
So what? Britney Spears should get a “real job”? Because entertaining isn’t a real job?
I think that’s a silly way of thinking about it.
If you truly entertain and is doing a great, unique job, I don’t see what the reservations are.
At least he isn’t whoring PYP or w/e.

lol what happened to using your webcam to just talk to your friends? Are people that lazy that they can’t get a real job to make money? (Not directed to anyone in particular.)
BUCK SUCKS
Buck is awesome 😀
I love Buck!! If I was making $100,000 a year for making YouTube videos… id be happy about it too
I love Buck. <3
This is proof blogtv is out of money. When I was getting paid there it was 10 cents for every page hit. That adds up WAY faster then Ad Revenue. then they said we had to suck up the first 2000 hits and that was a big red flag that they were having financial issues. Then on top of that they started changing the ratings. When I knew I had a big day and it said 200 people came to the show that day I knew they were not being honest with the ratings. If no one is going to blogtv then there will be no ad revenue. I know about 4 or five months ago the stopped paying a lot of people and just were paying the big Youtubers.
michael Buckley is so fucking annoying. I used to think he was funny but now he’s just big headed and boring.
BlogTV is chaotic. and promises of a bright future always fails there. IDK. They don’t have features at all/ Like … none. It’s you and ur webcam. It’s annoying
oh, cool ?
blogtv seems pretty cool.
I think it’s good for Michael Buckley. If I was earning a six figure sum i’d be smiling ear to ear too.
